Kempner Volunteer Fire Department

The Kempner Volunteer Fire Department continually seeks opportunities to serve our community through fire prevention, emergency operations, and professional service. Kempner VFD is 100% volunteer. Kempner VFD protection area covers 108 square miles and includes approx. 8,000 citizens, a large portion of which are stationed at neighboring Ft. Hood. Kempner VFD is supported through a minimal operating budget provided by lampasas county but relies heavily on the generosity of the surrounding community to cover equipment replacement, upgrades and repairs. The department currently maintains 2 stations that house a total of 2 engines, 5 brush trucks, 2 booster trucks, 2 tenders, and 2 support vehicles. The current roster stands at roughly 25-30 dedicated men and women. categories
