Wreck on FM 2657 claims life of infant

An early-morning wreck Friday claimed the life of a Copperas Cove infant and seriously injured his mother. Lampasas County sheriff’s authorities said the wreck occurred at 5:40 a.m. at the intersection of FM 2657 and County Road 4875. Authorities reported a vehicle operated by Kaicy McMasters, 31, of Copperas Cove was hit by a vehicle driven by Kendyl Yandrisovitz, 25, of Liberty Hill.  McMasters’ 5-month-old son was secured in a car safety seat at the time of the crash. All three individuals were transported to AdventHealth Central Texas with serious injuries.  At 11:03 a.m., Bell County Justice of the Peace Pct. 3 D.W. Ivey advised Lampasas County authorities that the infant had “succumbed to crash-related injuries” at Baylor Scott & White McLane Children’s Medical Center in Temple.  Texas Department of Public Safety troopers are investigating the crash.
